I have learnt the recipe from my friend Ankita. The Afghani chicken tastes best with plain chapati or naan or light pulao. This delicious, creamy curry is unbelievably easy to make and is superb served with Boiled Rice and Tandoori Roti or Naan. You can cook lamb or mutton this way too.
Instructions to make Afghani chicken curry:
- Take a mixer jar add onion, green chilli, garlic cloves, coriander leaves cashews and blend to a smooth paste.
- Take a bowl add chicken, salt, lemon juice, black pepper powder, fenugreek powder, whole spices powder, chaat masala, and paste of the jar, curd and oil.
- Mix it well and marinate for 2 hours.
- Heat oil in a pan, add chicken pieces and cook until it become golden brown in colour
- Then add the rest of the paste and mix well. Cook for 8 minutes.
- Serve hot and garnished with fresh cream and coriander leaves and silver leaf. And enjoy the delicious Afghani chicken curry.
